Black cumin or Kala Jeera is darker and has a much stronger and intense flavour to that of regular cumin. Historically used and highly valued in the courts of the Nawabs for flavouring the rich and sumptuous dishes that the Moghul emperors demanded. Used in a variety of Indian and Middle Eastern dishes.
